You cannot befriend devils and remain true to your faith, true to your god.
You cannot let healable regret drift from your mind, without action,
Or it is not regret but self-pity.
Choices must be made.
Stop waiting, let not the chance pass to where it can no longer be reached.
You cannot repent in silence nor speak woe only,
Waiting for the right opportunity to approach but not give in,
Confessions of the heart must be written in stone,
Risks must be taken,
Values must be upheld or they cannot be claimed in earnest.
Love must be fought for, not debated, not made contingent,
And devils must be purged, for they taint you with their presence.
You did well without them and owe them nothing.
They have no right to your attentions, nor anyone’s.
You invited them in when they had no key, only appeals to vanity.
And you’ve left the door locked to the good you rejected.
But your debt must be settled, wounds repaired by actions you undertake in sincerity,
Lest hypocrisy become your only face.
Let the demons go, banish them, and you know who they are.
And return to the one you banished in vengeance,
Your heart pure and uninstructed by evil.
Then happiness is yours.
But you can reap no joy by keeping devils around you,
Only deceit and an indelible stain upon your faith.
You let them define you, as one cannot befriend devils without letting oneself be turned dark.
You do not need them. You’ve never needed them.
You know what they are and you freed yourself from their kind once before,
But for what if you placate them now, invite them back in?
They cannot be redeemed. They are not nice. They are not true. And they are no one’s friend.
But you justify their merciless deprivations and thefts from innocents,
Their base using and unscrupulous greed, with your attentions, letting them call you friend,
You deceive others for them with your condonation of what they do.
They use you but you seem unaware.
Their eyes give them away, their ugliness speaks a thousand damnations,
Their gold is stolen and they have no souls.
They do nothing for you, only seeking your flesh to devour and soul to infect.
You cannot stay with them and claim morality, for they are its bane.
You cannot keep them and profess belief in good, call yourself good,
For good does not excuse evil when it sees it, only a false heart will for advantage.
Is that you? Then you have already sold your soul to brimstone.
Trade your deceiving devils for honesty, for love, for one you followed the devils against and sullied your own nature, your own heart,
Twisted your heart and soul in error and revenge.
Do what must be done and let no fear stop you, or you choose to entertain hell,
And bear its mark for all to see.
